P47D Thunderbolt TopFlite

P47 Thunderbolt TopFlite- Decoration Orange Tail - Marouflage tissu de verre et peinture autoThis bird took me almost two years to build!
Well, I must admit, i haven't been working on that project fulltime.
This is the famous P47 Thunderbolt. The pilots used to name her "Jug". The biggest WW2 fighter.
This one comes from a TopFlite Gold Edition kit.
Wingspan: 1m60
Engine: Saito 100
Flaps, pneumatic retracts
AUW (planned): +- 4.2kgs

The livery was named "orange tail". The real plane belonged to the 366th Fligth Squadron, 358th Fighter Group and flew in Germany at the end of WW2.
The finishing of this model is made with 25g glass cloth, primer and car paint. Tough work, but very durable and robust finish.
Maiden flight is planned during  summer.

Introduction

a320_final_thumb.jpgThis pages describe the building of a "scale" model of an Airbus A320 radio-controlled plane.
You should find enough information both in the plans and in the following pages to build this plane if you have enough motivation. But don't forget: This project is not easy and not for a beginner. There are quite a lot of parts to cut (RTF lovers this is not for you) and you will need some scratch building experience to build this plane.
Radio installation is not detailled. A modeller who wants to build such a model should be capable to make his/her own choices about installing and cabling RC equipment in a flying model.

This plane is (was) a beauty in the sky. Sadly she crashed only one month after maiden flight due to a radio failure. If you build one, please send some pictures to continue the story.
