in the mean time, I have started the sheeting of fuselage. I was a little impatient and could not wait. So I decided to give it a try. It wasn't too hard at all. I have done front section sheeting pretty well. At least, better than I expected.

a little tip from me! I have used mummification method (thats what I call) a clear packing tape used to wrap around sheet and leave about couple of hours. When you remove the tape, your sheet (1.5mm balsa) bonded to the ribs perfectly and smoothly. a little sanding between the pieces and balsa filler for joints... Jobs done!

I don't know what goes onto the sheeting at the moment! hoping that Jeff will help me. I think resin and fiber cloth will be wonderful...

Hi,
You seem to have done a great job so far.
I like your "mummification" technique for sheeting the fuse. It seems quite efficient
Regarding covering, you may of course use LIGHT (25g/sqm)fiber cloth and epoxy resin.
That's what I use for scale model. But you have to know that it takes a lot of time to prepare the parts, covering, sanding, priming, sanding, priming again and finally painting.
I used japan paper just to give it a try. But it's as much work as glass clothing and i prefer the finish you get with glass.
Additionally these products (solvent, resins, paints) produce a lot of toxic fumes and you have to wear protective equipment (gloves, googles and breathing mask) when using them.
If you're not used to fiber clothing I would suggest that you cover your model with some thermo film, like oracover, monokote or anything equivalent. You'll get an easy, light and nice finish.
Cheers
Jeff

Thank you very much Jeff. Let me finish the sheeting first and I will find out more about the fiber cloth, glass stuff. There is an exhebition in London this weekend (22-24 Jan). Model suppliers will be there and I'm hoping that I will have a chance to speak to pros...

Your experience is really helpful to built this baby. I'm getting closer to the finish and I feel so excited..

Thanks again
