Hi,
You seem to have done a great job so far.
I like your "mummification" technique for sheeting the fuse. It seems quite efficient

Regarding covering, you may of course use LIGHT (25g/sqm)fiber cloth and epoxy resin.
That's what I use for scale model. But you have to know that it takes a lot of time to prepare the parts, covering, sanding, priming, sanding, priming again and finally painting.
I used japan paper just to give it a try. But it's as much work as glass clothing and i prefer the finish you get with glass.
Additionally these products (solvent, resins, paints) produce a lot of toxic fumes and you have to wear protective equipment (gloves, googles and breathing mask) when using them.
If you're not used to fiber clothing I would suggest that you cover your model with some thermo film, like oracover, monokote or anything equivalent. You'll get an easy, light and nice finish.
Cheers
Jeff
